Fall 2013: APALSA kicked off its 2013-14 mentorship program at Sly Fox Inn.

Every incoming student is assigned a 2L and 3L mentor, for advice on courses, professors, job opportunities, and law school in general.

Spring 2014: Alumni career panel, where St. John's APALSA alumni returned to their alma mater and discussed their career paths and work experiences and offered tips to students on how to succeed in law school and in the legal field.

Fall 2013: Lawson Huynh, Alison Bomba, and Jonathan Yi at the regionals of the Thomas Tang Moot Court Competition, where they won and went on to be quarterfinalists in the Nationals!

On October 24-25, 2014, St. John's APALSA sent two teams, Christina Nguyen/Kevin Wong and Kristin Lee/Lawson Huynh, both teams coached by Christine Shyu, to the Northeast Regional of the Thomas Tang Moot Court Competition, hosted by American University School of Law. Lawson Huynh took Best Oralist and Kristin Lee took Second Best Oralist, and the team won the Northeast Regional, beating out 13 other teams.  Lawson and Kristin are advancing to the Nationals, which will take place in Arizona on November 7-8, 2014. 

On November 7-8, 2014, Lawson Huynh and Kristin Lee placed second in the National Thomas Tang Moot Court Competition, arguing in the final round in front of an esteemed panel that included Hon. Denny Chin (2nd Circuit Court of Appeals), Hon. Edward Chen (District Court for the Northern District of California), and Hon. Spring 2015:  Our 2015 Lunar New Year Dinner honored Lisa Chun '00, Senior Vice President of Paulson & Co.  The event was held at Vermilion and attendees included Hon. Randall Eng from the Second Department, Judge John Lansden from Queens Housing Court, EJ Thorsen from KALAGNY, Deans Larry Cunningham and Andrew Simons, and attorneys from various law firms and agencies. 

Spring 2015:  APALSA Executive Board members (pictured left) and first-year members (right) capped off a successful Lunar New Year Dinner event by cheesing it hard. We thank all the students, faculty, and alumni who attended the event and supported our organization.  This event would not have been possible without you all!
